We sure had an exciting week that really allowed our skill level to shine.  We have an attitude that we will not take a no if a yes is possible.  I am not sure if anyone knows what that really means.  Many of our clients tell us how easy the deal felt however many of the deals are anything but easy.  Our goal is that many of the challenges are handled for our clients so they think it was easy.

This week alone we had last minute closing issues, insurance issues, offers that agents said no to and even challenges with showings.  At the end of the week, we were able to work all of the issues out to benefit our buyers and sellers.  

By having the best people working in their area of expertise, we have success that our clients deserve.

Here are his 10 secrets to being an effective leader:

1.  Employees are not your friends. 

At first glance this might be hard for some leaders.  As part of a culture of being connected, often the lines become blurred.  When I thought about this one, at first I wasn't sure I liked this one.  Then what I realized as a leader, I have to be able to make the decisions that are best for the company and all team members.  When you view everyone as a friend, it might be hard to make clear business decisions.

Do you love Shark Tank?  I sure do.  I have to say I love it more now that Barbara Corcoran endorses us and now that I have also met Mr. Wonderful.  I have learned a lot from both including about luxury real estate from Barbara Corcoran.  I am learning business from both of them.  They really are amazing business people that understand about growing a company.  

When I met Mr. Wonderful, he shared what the people that were offered deals had in common.  Shark Tank and Dragon's Den was studied and there were Success Metrics that showed up.

1.  Entrepreneur was able to articulate opportunity in 90 seconds or less.  

This is often called your elevator speech.  Can you share why you in 90 seconds?

  1. Be prepared to make sacrifices in your personal life. It is all about balance. Your business, especially a new business, will take up a lot of your time and effort.
  2. Be knowledgeable about everything, especially about what you are selling. Know the current market and have predictions for the future. Know your own product, as well as your competitors.
  3. Put your customers and shareholders first. Your reputation is important and will be hard to build, but easy to destroy. Connection that you make now can help you in the long run through return business, good reviews, and word of mouth.
  4. Love what you sell.
